I got the beat!
When I was in Nicaragua, I collected hundreds (!) of different species of leaves, but they were all heart-shaped. I was so amazed at the biodiversity, that focusing on just a single shape was one way that I could start to form some sort of understanding or familiarity with the wildness all around me there. This is a picture of the only one I brought home. It's covered in mold (most of the other ones disintegrated from jungle mold before I left Nicaragua). I wished the whole time I was there that you were with me.

Heart. I think about how he had to go through that major surgery and how scary and difficult that was and whenever my mom has issues, I think about Ben and say a quick prayer.
